Kirkland Signature 2014 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Quick Review – A smooth and pleasant tasting Cab, though not as vivid and complex as some of the more premium offerings.

Costco’s been revamping and upgrading the label designs, and it certainly shows. Last year this same wine had a photo of grapes, something old-world wineries don’t do, and for good reason. It’s perhaps educational but not at all classy.

The quality of the wine is similar, a very good Cab that doesn’t shine like higher-end offerings, but is still very pleasant to drink on its own.

A side note. I’m still very curious about the designation. Sonoma just doesn’t seem to have as much drawing power for Cabs as Napa. If this was called a Sonoma County Cab from Alexander Valley, would you have preferred it?
