Quick Review – A solid Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, deliciously big and bold, but could be difficult to justify the price point. 94/100
Opus One, perhaps one of the most hyped wineries, ever. The history of this place has been written all too many times – a union of Rothschild and Mondavi. In a world where many of the world’s wealthiest simply buy on price and name recognition, this hype has also rendered Opus One out of reach for most casual drinkers. Today they’re regularly found at over $200(Buy Here).
That said, it’s one fine bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2008 vintage might not be as vibrant and dynamic as some other vintages, unless you’re splurging major dollars on a vertical tasting you wouldn’t notice the difference. Napa cabs seldom get better than this.
