Quick Review – If you liked the Brut from Jaume Serra as I did, the Brut Rose is just as good. A slightly more fruity nose replaces the yeasty scent of the Brut, same great fine bubbles, and comically the same disclaimer on the label. 88/100.
If a brand dedicates about a third of their label to legalese, how would you judge it upon first sight?
As a big fan of the Brut from Jaume Serra Cristalino (Buy Here), I’ve learned to ignore the disclaimer stating that this sub $10 bottle isn’t affiliated to Cristal. Sure it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing bottle to pass around, but your friends at the party will forgive you once they get a sip.
The Brut Rose shares the same fine bubbles as the Brut, a rarity for sparking wine in this price range. Again using the Brut as the basis for comparison, the Rose features a slightly more fruity nose. On the palate it’s dry, slightly acidic and refined.
A great Rose to sip on a summer afternoon.
